Kay: I'm back in North Carolina

The lessons of Campaign '08 were not lost on Sen. Kay Hagan, the Democrat who turned Republican Elizabeth Dole out of office after one term. One thing that worked against Dole was the impression -- right or wrong -- that she had not spent much time in North Carolina. That was one of the themes Democrats used against Dole, once a highly popular senator whose standing with voters dropped by the time her re-election campaign rolled around.

Friday, Hagan's office sent out a news release with this pointed headline, emphasizing her ties to the state:

SENATOR HAGAN BACK IN NORTH CAROLINA FOR RECESS WEEK

Meets with constituents, talks to BioTech Community, Tours Industries of the Blind, “Ready-to-Go” Infrastructure Project, Ft. Bragg

U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (D-NC) will return to North Carolina next week while the U.S. Senate stands in recess after Presidents’ Day. In addition to continuing work on setting up her new state offices, Senator Hagan will attend several public events across the state and meet with constituents.

The news release went on to describe the events she'd take part in while in the state.

Not much sublety about this. Hagan is making sure folks know she's back home when the Senate is in recess. And if she does run for re-election in 2014, she surely wants to make sure she doesn't have that "never comes home" problem that contributed to Dole's defeat.

Just window dressing, Fibber Kay. Let see how often you return.

Too bad when you try to call her office in Washington no one answers. If your office doesn't take calls from constituents how can you represent them?

Now that you have just voted for the largest government give away in the history of the world, you might want to use this time to actually read the stimulus bill.

good, maybe I can boo her somewhere. nahh, i wouldn't waste my time. She is extremely dangerous and ignorant.

I bet she will be home for rest for not reading the stimulus bill. And from not answering and returning calls. She did not represent NC on this. Just trying to get to top with President Pelosi. Same for Larry Kissell. However, thanks to Sen. Burr, Heath Shuler, and others who did have common sense not to vote on something no one has read. No vote here on re election. Hope by then someone in this state will run who has backbone.

What is she coming back to NC for. She certainly didn't think about us in Washington. I guess now that they have her vote for the stimulus, she is no longer useful for now. She will just have to await the next Pelosi's order. Nice having a representative who cannot think for herself. I say, in 2014, anybody would be better than Hagan.

I think KAY HAGAN has done a great job and will do better than DOLE ever did as y'all see in the last eight years. I have approached Kay HAGAn about AFSCME Union for sheriffs , Police and Teachers. She has an open mind and not closed doors like many that have tried to serve N.C.

I know most of you are for LIZZY DOLE but look what kind of trouble she got into that caused her to lose her job. Bush forced Dole to vote for every bill he sent through. Lizzy was a Bush rubber stamp of approval. Now we have the Great Depression looming and People are scared. We have to d something rather than hide the facts like Bushs cronies did.

Look I know North Carolina and what it needs ; N. C. needs a couple of car plants like ALABAMA does; We lost everything Textiles, Furniture, and Tobacco and nothing is coming down the pike. We need AFSCME unions in here to make sure Southerners get a reasonable standard of living. Hey look the State Pension fund is down 20 billion dollars and its time to say OUCH! This State is bleeding to death.

Look Even ART POPE understands that ROSES and FRED's will not survive the way things are going here we need a car plant you asses. Signed Yankee

We are having the North Carolina Cancelled. N.C. is not signing no more Lottery contracts and letting it run out . I give them an A plus for trying at least we getting to second base with things

We need representatives. no matter what party, who reads the bills before voting on them. Hagan fitted right into the same old Washington politics by just following party lines. I can't wait to see how she defends the pork that will be revealed once it is read. Ignorance will not be a valid excuse.

lol, all the sore losers are posting so I thought I'd say Good Job Kay for coming back and keeping touch with your constituents. BTW, Email's to your Represenative and Senator would be a lots easiar than phone calls. I have done this and get not only email reply but hard copy reply within a week.

I hope all the complainers here get fired from jobs and replced by people that have been latyed off. Then watch them run to ask about the new benefit in the stimulus package about help with COBRA. Also, Im sure they will be complaining because of road closure due to road repairs that have been sorely needed.

I emailed and phoned Hagan and Burr several times. Never heard back from Hagan but received replys every time from Burr. Guess Hagan was busy listening to orders from Pelosi.

I experienced the same with Hagan and Burr. I guess Hagan can tell I am not a democrat. In Hagan we have a mouth piece for the crooks. Chicago chianary as usual - just sign it, do not read. I wonder if Hagan would understand the bill if she tried to read it.

What a bunch of jerks! I have been a Republican for 40 years and until the last 10 or so have been very proud of my party. But I cannot abide by liars cheats and theives and that is what the republicans have turned into. I don't agree with all this liberal bull but I sure wish folks would start being good americans instead of good Republicans and good Democrates.
If any one of you mud slingers think that good americans can't see you for who and what you are, you are sadly mistaken.

Good job, Kay. Thank goodness Liddy Dole, the "I never wanted to be a senator anyway" disgrace, is gone.

I love to watch conservatives writhe. Teehee:)
